We want to encourage education and compliance with the ADA, the importance of training and the behavior of you and your animal. Remember, you and your Service Dog may be the first team that someone ever meets. It is up to you to make sure that you leave them with an excellent impression. By registering and signing this agreement, you've made a small but important promise to yourself and other disabled individuals who rely on their Service Dogs.
As we have said before, please note that under the law, no gear or proof of training of any kind is required — which is why we were designed. We were designed with input from members of the Service Dog community who felt that there should be an option for those who wish to voluntarily and knowingly comply with not only the law, but also an additional set of training and behavior standards. Simply, our purpose is to allow someone to hold themselves and their animal accountable to a higher standard by signing a specific set of training and behavior standards that goes above and beyond the law.
Simply registering with us does not qualify an animal or an individual as a Service Dog Team or provide any special rights, legal or otherwise. If someone found not to comply with our training or behavior standards, if they or their dog behaves in an unbecoming manner, misquotes the law or the purpose of our service,we can remove or suspend their registration rendering any materials they have invalid.
As a reminder, please do not automatically flash your registration, training documentation, doctor’s notes or other forms of identification in order to gain entry as it may give the impression that type of paperwork is required, thus it may make access more difficult for the next Service Dog team. Try to explain the law and what questions the public is allowed to ask.
